F&M participates in the official inauguration of the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at the Venice Biennale

F&M had the honour of attending the official inauguration of the Sultanate of Oman’s Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. The event, held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Nizar Al Julanda Majid Al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Italian Republic, marked a significant cultural and architectural milestone for the region.

Titled “Athar”, the Pavilion explores the theme “Integrating Human and Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Architecture”, offering a thoughtful reflection on identity, craftsmanship, and innovation — values that resonate strongly with F&M’s multidisciplinary approach across all the regions we serve.

“We are honoured to attend this event that deeply resonates with us, connecting F&M’s Italian roots with our growing presence in Oman, where we established our regional headquarters in 2010,”
said Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO & Managing Partner, F&M Middle East & F&M International.

Curated by the talented Majeda Al Hinai, the Pavilion draws inspiration from the Sablah — a traditional Omani gathering space rooted in hospitality, dialogue, and collective presence — highlighting the intersection between the local and the universal.

The ceremony gathered distinguished guests and officials, including HE Sayyid Saeed bin Sultan bin Yarub Al Busaidi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth & Commissioner; Sayyid Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Deputy Commissioner; and Dr. Samir Al Azri, Project Director at the Oman Cultural Complex. F&M was proudly represented by Hazem Abdul Karim, Sandro Favero (Founder & Chairman of F&M Ingegneria), and Federico Zaggia (Partner at F&M Ingegneria & F&M International).

We are grateful to have witnessed such a momentous occasion, celebrating Omani architecture on the global stage and reinforcing our long-standing commitment to cultural dialogue and design excellence
